Partnership with IAM

The University of Wales Newport (UWN) has established a reputation both within the United Kingdom and internationally for the provision of high quality; innovative andvocationally relevant study programmes designed to meet the educational needs of modern industrial and commercial enterprises.
Over the last decade the University has developed a number of overseas links This began in 1994 with UWN’s first partnership in Malaysia and continued through 1998 when its first partnership in China was launched. The development in China was particularly innovative since it was the first institution to offer bilingual MBA qualifications taught through the medium of Mandarin in China.
The link with the International Academy of Management (IAM) Hong Kong, which began in 2001, represents a further development of links with China. The pace of development of the partnership between IAM and the University of Wales, Newport is impressive.
MBA courses and methods of joint delivery in China and Hong Kong received the approval of the United Kingdom Quality Assurance Agency. The course is delivered to teach Western ideas and methods within the Chinese context.
The pace of development is a tribute to the success of Management and staff of IAM, both in the provision of excellent resources to underpin the growth, and in meeting the rigorous quality standards imposed by the University on all its partner institutions.
The University of Wales Newport is very careful to ensure that all its programmes, wherever taught, are of the same quality as those in the United Kingdom
